*** shop
I have a Chevy Silverado and I had them put in a flywheel. I have not been able to drive it since.
I wouldn't carry a bicycle to these clowns. I called them called them back and was told he could not get to it till next week. Who the *** can afford to let a work truck sit for a week, and I already paid for the work? I will fix it, but I plan to take these people to court.
Don't get robbed. I have over 600 dollars tied up. Learn from me. Since this truck has a small block Chevy, I will get a real shop to fix it.
This kind of crap should be against the law. 100 words is difficult to fill in.
But I am sick of stuff like this. I can't afford this crap.
Never again
My car was towed to Holt on 23 July 18 to have the transmission fixed. Today (9/19/18) I took my car to another shop for unrelated issues.
The mechanic there pointed out my engine mounts were bad.
As they replaced them, I was shown a new one and one of the old ones, which I have kept.
I have put 606 miles on my car since having the transmission replaced, so there's no way this just suddenly happened. Either their mechanic was incompetent, or they were just trying to get money down the road when I started having transmission issues because of the motor mounts.

So i brought my isuzu trooper over to the rivers ave location because my transmission was slipping. Mark the manager told me that he had to take it apart to see what the problem was he told me that it would cost about 479 dollars.
I told him that i agree and it would be finished in a couple of days this was monday. So I called back around Wednesday to check the progress and how much it cost he told me between 1500 and 2000 dollars.i was like ok I can handle that so Thursday come and he calls me to tell me they found other issues. I was like what now he then hike the price up to 2700 dollars and it would be finished by Friday around 1pm.
So Friday comes and i get there around 3 car is not finished yet so I'm a little worried the cars was ready until around 6pm. I drove the car for about a week and the transmission starts slipping again so i bring it back on Tuesday and i was told that it would be finished on Friday at 5pm this didnt happened this is some *** I paid in full although they have a warranty program its just an scapegoat for bad business and poor craftsmanship now the correct thing thing to do is provide costumers with a rental or some form of transportation especially if the service was paid in full
*** Up Transmission
These people took our money and lied about rebuilding our transmission. Within one week the transmission was going bad.
They could care less about their customers. The mechanics do not know what they are doing. They take on too much work and give crummy service. What a bunch of greedy low lifes.
If all of the unsatisfied customers want to get together to put up signs about this business so everyone driving by can know how greedy and horrible they are just let me know. We can't have businesses like this around taking our hard earned money.
AWFUL
Holt Transmission, Charleston SC Got my transmission rebuilt 50k miles ago, and a part is already bad on it. A part that I am finding out should have been replaced when then transmission was rebuilt.
Had a warranty repair on it 13 miles before the warranty expired, and I now believe that they never made the repair to begin with. DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE!! THE WILL CHARGE YOU A BUNCH OF MONEY AND THE VEHICLE WILL NOT GET REPAIRED PROPERLY. They have already lost potentially 10 customers just by me telling my story and knowing that the rebuilt transmission is already going bad.
If they had repaired the vehicle properly to begin with, they could have more than paid for the warranty repairs with the extra business. BAD MOVE, HOLT!!!!!!

Holt Transmission Service - Car Repair Review from Winlock, Washington
After having problems with my transmission shifting hard, I took it to them for service . Thr first time I got my truck back, began having the same problem.
Barely msking it to a parking lot before the transmission blew up. Cslled them, they came and got it. I was told the rebuilt transmission was bad out of tje box. They replaced it ok.
Things were fine for awhile until once again it began slipping. It was still under warranty at this time, when l went to pick it up, I was told it was the bands had stretched . They fixed it once again. Well fast forward 20,000 miles.
Warranty has expired and my transmission once again has to be replaced. I will NEVER desl with these people agsin! A friend even told me they overheard some of the employees laughing and joking in a local restaraunt of how they'd ripped people off that day. What kind of business are tjey running ?
Taking advantage of people who are in a jam??? Avoid them at all cost!!

Well, of course theyll fix your transmission. Most transmission shops do.
But holt is definetly morally poor. They took my car in and pretended not to know what transmission it used(even though its written pretty much all over the vehicle)Qouted me relatively low price, took my transmission out, then more than quadrupled the quote. When said i couldnt afford the jump from 500 to 3000 dollars, they gave me two choices- pay 100 for the towing and 500 for them taking out the thing to look at it and see what they already knew (oh. After they removed my tranny they admitted to knowing it would cost $3000 all along)or bring them my car title and take the bus home.
Basically, once youre in their sites theyre taking your money or your car.
Dont let the calm smile and the smooth kenny rogers voice fool you. These guys are crooks.

I am totally pleased with the work done on my vehicle by Holt. There was one hick-cup but the final result was a totally repaired transmission. I was very impressed with the personal attention by Mark. He treated me like family and truly wanted me to be satisfied.
If I have an opportunity to refer any for a transmission repair there is no doubt who I will recommend. Holt came highly recommended from another mechanic who I explicitly trust.
Thank you

Holts transmission"s hidden agenda, cha' ching!!!!
transmission was slipping, went to Holts(rivers ave.) 400 plus for labor just to see what was wrong, was told EVERYTHING was wrong, wanted to charge me 3000. to fix it,cash up front!!!
or they could wait till we got the money and pay 40 dollars a day for storage. When we informed him that currently we didn't have that amount on hand, slippery McSilver tounge offered us a deal...give me 965. down and make monthly payments of 425 . and you wont have to wait, we will give you your car TODAY!!!
More bull, he couldn;t give the name of this ficticious loan company, so then he said we were turned down by them and if we didnt pay him for the car that very day,,, he was going to put a lein against it!!! Holt's should be spelled Halt's don' do it.

Went to Holt Transmission because my car was making a funny noise after I ran over a dead deer. After explaining to Jeff Holt the type noise I was hearing without hesitation he takes the time to drive the car to get a clear understanding what was going on. He immediately put the car on the rack to check to see what was going on found that it a was bent metal ring he pulled it back and the problem was solved. I was so excited because I was just told by another mechanic that I had bent axle.Ladies or anyone who's not knowledge about cars like myself you can trust these guys at Holt Transmission they're honest friendly and to the ladies they're quite handsome. Thanks Holt Transmission for your kindness and honesty you saved me hundreds of dollars.

Holt charged me $2150 2 fix trans. They told me they had already took it apart 2 find out wut was wrong.
(Thats how they get u) i promise...everybody i called since say they havnt performed a job that costly. My trans was dun by the NEX SUMMER. i went to them n my car . had already surpass 30,000 miles (u can do that n ure sleep) they wouldnt fix it.
THIS TIME i looked 4 bes price and found kevins transmission. $1000 4 the work with 4yr warranty. Holts is a rip off.
Compare kevins anytime. Dont hav 2 believe me....numbers dont lie.
Grossly inflated estimate.
I took my car to Holt transmission to diagnose a whine from my rear differential. I told the guy who quoted me I had just driven cross country and I the noise started on the last leg of the trip.
He must have took me as stranded, desperate and ignorant because he quoted me $5500 to replace a differential, ring gear and pinion. For that price I can buy 4-5 brand new, fully assembled rear axles for my car. Normally the cost for this kind of work is $800 parts and labor at a performance or 4x4 shop..
Even the Ford dealership with all their markups only quoted $1700. Avoid these criminals at all costs.
Transmission Repair SWINDLERS!!
I brought my car to Holt Transmission Service after having problems with shifting gears. They did a diagnostic work-up and concluded that I needed to rebuild my transmission.
The parts they required included a master kit, solenoid, torque converter and filter set. I ignorantly authorized the repair, but did massive amounts of research for what was required to fix my vehicle. I found Holt's charged me for parts, at most, 403% over retail (from the dealer). When I asked about the outrageous mark-up, I was told by the owner that he was entitled to make a profit.
I asked for a written estimate, to include the problem my transmission was having. That they did give me was their diagnostic report, which did not include the justification for rebuilding my transmission. After asking for my old parts, I was told that they no longer had them, and to prove the work had been done, they would have to tear my transmission down again. After telling the owner that I intended to take it to another transmission shop to have the work verified because I didn't trust the work being accomplished at his shop, he agreed to tear down my transmission so that I could see the parts had been installed.
The next day, he called to inform me that the parts were ready to inspect. I then told him that I wanted him to stop all work on my vehicle and that I intended to pay the full amount of the bill. He then offered me a discount to allow him to finish the repair. I declined and asked for my vehicle back as is.
He refused and I had no choice but to leave my car at his shop. The following day, the owner calls to inform me that my car was ready to pick up, the transmission was torn down per my request, and that he wasn't going to charge me for parts and labor. After towing the car and transmission parts to another shop, we discovered that the clutches that came with the parts Holt's owner gave me were incorrect, and that the transmission could not be reassembled with them. We ordered (what we thought) was the correct master kit, and it took 3 days to figure out why the master kit that was ordered for my transmission did not come with clutches that fit.
Once we figured out the solution, we had to order a new master kit from a different car altogether, just for the clutches. Upon further inquiry, we also found out that Holt's didn't order my parts until the Monday following the date they told me my vehicle was ready to pick up. Holt's never ordered or installed a new master kit or torque converter before they told me work had been completed. After I figured out what was happening, Holt's ordered the parts, only to order the wrong parts, which forced them to give me back my vehicle with a disassembled transmission.
This ordeal forced me to pay another shop for parts that were not needed to fix my vehicle before I took it to Holt's. I've also had to pay rental car fees because my vehicle was in the shop 2 1/2 weeks while parts were ordered and work was completed.
This ordeal had also cost me a lot of time, stress and aggravation that could have been prevented had Holt's completed the work ethically and honestly. I advise anyone having transmission work done, to NOT go to Holt's Transmission Service.

Yep. Pretty much what happened to me. Problem was never fixed even with me returning the car to the shop 3 times within the warranty period.
Once I talked to the owner of Holt Transmission my whole experience changed. The owner was kind and understanding to my situation.
He is even providing a rental car during our repair. I am glad that we could work it out for the better.
Hey. What is the name of the owner. I’m having the same issues here.
